YouTube Introduces Conversational AI Search Feature and Expands Gemini Integration for Shorts Creation
YouTube is transforming its search experience with the introduction of a new feature known as Ask YouTube.
The tool is designed to allow users to engage in more conversational and complex search interactions while exploring video content on the platform.
It reflects Google’s broader shift toward artificial intelligence driven search systems.
With Ask YouTube, users can input detailed questions such as learning how to teach a child to ride a bicycle or discovering creator reviews of relaxing games suitable for bedtime viewing.
The system is also capable of handling follow up questions, allowing users to refine their search results as they continue interacting with the platform.
The feature compiles both short video content and full length videos to generate responses that are more contextual and helpful.
At present, it is available to premium subscribers in the United States using desktop access through experimental features offered by YouTube.
In a separate update, YouTube is also introducing Gemini Omni, an advanced AI video model integrated into Shorts Remix and the YouTube Create application.
The company says the system enhances storytelling by better understanding user intent and improving video and audio adjustments during content creation.
YouTube is also expanding its likeness detection system for creators aged eighteen and above.
The tool is designed to help prevent unauthorized AI generated representations of creators, allowing them to request removal of misleading content involving their identity.
