Orbio Secures $21 Million to Transform Frontline Workforce Management with AI
Enterprise workforce technology startup Orbio has raised $21 million in a Series A funding round aimed at expanding its artificial intelligence-powered platform for frontline workforce management.
The investment was led by Dawn Capital and marks a significant milestone for the company, which was launched in 2025 by Sergi Bastardas, Nacho Travesí, and Antonio Melé.
Bastardas, who previously spent a decade at Amazon and floriculture startup Colvin, said the idea for Orbio stemmed from the lack of efficient systems for managing frontline workers.
The company was created to help businesses automate recruitment, onboarding, and workforce operations through AI-driven agents.
Orbio’s platform employs virtual agents known as Maria, Daniel, and Claire, which can conduct candidate interviews, evaluate suitability for roles, monitor employee performance, and maintain regular engagement with workers throughout their employment journey.
The company says these tools help businesses streamline operations while improving workforce support.
Among Orbio’s growing list of clients are major brands such as Poke and YUM! Brands, the parent company of Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC.
According to the company, many customers have moved beyond pilot programs and are now fully integrating the software into their daily operations.
One customer, The Stepping Stones Group, reportedly uses Orbio to manage its entire U.S. workforce operation.
The platform is designed to create a continuous feedback loop, where insights gathered from recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and exit interviews are used to improve future hiring decisions and employee retention strategies.
This data-driven approach aims to help organizations make more informed workforce decisions.
With total funding now reaching $26 million, Orbio plans to use the latest investment to expand its team and develop additional AI agents.
Bastardas believes the technology will not only transform business operations but also improve the working experience of billions of frontline employees across sectors such as healthcare, retail, logistics, and hospitality.
