Mark Zuckerberg Purchases Historic Castle in Ireland
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly purchased Strancally Castle, a historic 19th century property in Ireland, along with approximately 440 acres of surrounding land.
The estate is believed to have cost between $23 million and $35 million, adding another major property acquisition to the billionaire’s growing real estate portfolio.
A spokesperson said Zuckerberg and his family were looking forward to caring for the historic property and spending time in Ireland.
Meta maintains its international headquarters in Dublin, making the country an important location for the technology company and its operations.
The castle is located near the River Blackwater and is surrounded by extensive grounds and greenery.
Reports indicate that the property contains at least 11 bedrooms, four tower suites, a library, a dining room and a drawing room. Zuckerberg reportedly purchased the estate from a financier who had lived there with his family for about 25 years.
The property is located in County Waterford, roughly two hours by road from Dublin. Meta’s international headquarters is situated in Dublin, where the company has maintained a significant presence for years.
The location therefore provides Zuckerberg with a private residence within relatively close reach of the company’s European base.
The Irish purchase follows another major real estate investment by Zuckerberg and his wife, who reportedly spent about $170 million on a property in Miami.
The latest acquisition further highlights the enormous scale of Zuckerberg’s personal investments in luxury real estate across different parts of the world.
