Last Updated: June 8, 2026By

The Canadian government has launched a sweeping national artificial intelligence strategy called “AI for All”, aimed at accelerating AI adoption, boosting economic growth, and creating 250,000 jobs by 2031.

Announced by Prime Minister Mark Carney in Toronto, the strategy includes a C$500 million technology fund to support Canadian AI companies and startups.
The government expects the initiative to increase Canada’s GDP by approximately 3% while helping businesses adopt AI tools more rapidly.

The plan also focuses on strengthening Canada’s AI infrastructure, supporting research and commercialization, and ensuring that Canadian-developed intellectual property remains within the country.

Officials say the strategy is intended to address Canada’s lagging productivity and position the country as a global AI leader.

According to government targets, AI adoption among Canadian businesses is expected to rise significantly over the next decade, helping companies improve efficiency and compete internationally.

The strategy represents one of the country’s largest technology investments in recent years.
