Bayer Raises Annual Profit Forecast Following Strong Pharmaceutical Performance

Last Updated: November 5, 2026By

German pharmaceutical and agricultural company Bayer has raised its full-year profit outlook after its pharmaceutical division delivered stronger-than-expected results during the third quarter.

The company now expects adjusted core earnings for 2026 to reach between €9.8 billion and €10.3 billion. The revised forecast reflects improved performance in its pharmaceutical business and stronger operational results.

Bayer’s latest financial performance has encouraged investors, with its shares rising approximately 5 per cent following the announcement. The improvement comes as the company continues to navigate challenges across its pharmaceutical and agricultural operations.

The company is also working to address legal liabilities associated with its Roundup weedkiller product. Bayer expects court approval of a proposed $7.25 billion settlement before Christmas, although the outcome remains subject to legal proceedings.

The stronger profit outlook provides Bayer with some financial relief as it works to strengthen its business operations and manage ongoing legal risks. The company’s performance will depend on maintaining pharmaceutical growth while addressing its broader financial and regulatory challenges.
