Social media platform X has officially released a completely redesigned Android application following nearly a year of development.
The company says the updated version has been rebuilt from the ground up to deliver faster performance, smoother navigation, and improved reliability.

According to X, the new application significantly improves loading times, scrolling, notifications, and overall responsiveness.
Company executives described the project as one of the largest engineering efforts undertaken since the platform came under new ownership.
The decision to rebuild the Android application followed long standing performance issues that placed Android users behind those using Apple’s iOS devices.

At one point, Android users experienced serious problems loading posts and navigating the platform, prompting the company to prioritize a complete redesign.

Although the new application is now available, developers acknowledged that additional improvements are still being made. Support for live audio Spaces, better performance on older Android devices, and several new features are expected in future updates.

The redesigned application is expected to strengthen X’s presence in international markets where Android smartphones dominate. Existing users can access the updated experience by installing the latest version through the Google Play Store.
