Luxury smartphone manufacturer Vertu has introduced a new foldable smartphone designed specifically for business executives and high-net-worth individuals.
The device, known as the Alphafold, combines premium craftsmanship with artificial intelligence tools aimed at improving enterprise productivity and communication.

The foldable smartphone starts at $6,880 for its standard calfskin version, while premium models featuring alligator leather, gold detailing, and diamond accents command significantly higher prices.

Vertu stated that its most expensive standard device currently sells for as much as $46,800, excluding further customization options.

The launch represents the company’s latest effort to reposition itself in the artificial intelligence era after years of struggling to maintain relevance in the competitive smartphone market.

Once known for its luxury handsets and concierge services, Vertu is now focusing on AI-powered enterprise tools to differentiate itself from mainstream smartphone brands.

The Alphafold is equipped with an AI system called Hermes Agent, capable of connecting with enterprise software platforms such as ERP and CRM systems.

Through natural language commands, the AI can assist users with approvals, scheduling, operational reporting, travel planning, and sales management.

The device can also integrate with more than 80 applications and multiple AI models, including OpenAI’s GPT, Google Gemini, and Anthropic’s Claude.

Vertu emphasized that the phone was built with privacy and security in mind. The device contains a proprietary A5 security chip designed to protect biometric credentials and sensitive enterprise information.

According to the company, commercially sensitive data can also be processed directly on the device instead of external cloud servers.

Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, the Alphafold features an 8.05-inch foldable display, satellite communication support, a 6,500mAh battery, and a triple rear camera system.

Vertu believes the larger foldable display makes the device ideal for multitasking and productivity-focused AI workflows.
