Samsung Commits $1 Billion to AI Infrastructure Company

Last Updated: September 30, 2026By

Samsung has committed $1 billion to Helix Digital Infrastructure, an AI infrastructure company backed by KKR and Nvidia.

The investment will help Helix develop data centers, power systems and other infrastructure needed to support the growing demand for artificial intelligence.

Helix was launched earlier this year with backing from Nvidia, Vistra and the Kuwait Investment Authority.

The company is focused on building the physical infrastructure required by major technology companies as AI computing demand continues to increase.

Samsung plans to contribute more than its financial investment. Its expertise in technology, construction, energy storage and cooling systems could also support Helix’s development of new AI facilities.

The investment is part of Samsung’s broader effort to strengthen its position in the AI infrastructure industry.

The South Korean company is traditionally known for smartphones, televisions, memory chips and other electronics, but it is increasingly looking to participate in the infrastructure supporting the AI boom.

The deal also reflects the enormous amount of capital now flowing into AI infrastructure.

Helix’s secured capital has risen above $11 billion, while major technology companies continue to spend heavily on data centers and computing capacity.
