Apple Reportedly Cuts iPhone 18 Pro Production Orders

Last Updated: October 11, 2026By

Apple has reportedly asked some suppliers to reduce production of components for its newly launched iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models by approximately 15% for October.

The reported decision comes amid concerns that demand outside China has been weaker than initially expected.

According to reports cited by MarketWatch, Apple communicated the production adjustments to several suppliers, although it remains unclear whether the reductions will continue into November.

The company launched the new models on September 9, with improvements to battery life, performance and camera features.

Rising memory-chip costs may be contributing to the pressure on demand. Higher component prices can increase manufacturing expenses, while more expensive devices can make consumers reconsider when to upgrade their phones.

Apple’s supply chain includes major companies such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and Qualcomm.

Changes in iPhone production can therefore affect not only Apple but also the suppliers that manufacture chips and other components for its devices.

Investors will be watching Apple’s upcoming sales figures to determine whether the reported adjustment reflects a temporary production change or a more sustained slowdown in demand.

Apple has not publicly confirmed the reported reduction in component orders.
