Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Nvidia have announced a major expansion of their partnership that will see AWS deploy 2 million additional Nvidia GPUs across its cloud infrastructure.

The companies say the expansion is designed to meet rapidly increasing demand for artificial-intelligence computing.

The additional processors will be deployed across AWS data centres and will include Nvidia’s newer generations of AI chips.

The agreement covers infrastructure expected to support AI applications, including advanced AI agents and physical AI systems.

The announcement demonstrates the enormous scale of Amazon’s investment in artificial intelligence.

AWS is one of the world’s largest cloud-computing businesses, and increasing demand for AI services has pushed cloud providers to expand their computing capacity.

Amazon and Nvidia have been working together for years, but the latest expansion is particularly significant because the companies say customer demand has exceeded previous expectations.

Amazon had previously agreed to deploy more than one million Nvidia GPUs across AWS infrastructure.

For Nvidia, the agreement provides another major customer for its AI processors.
