Reliance Signs $3 Billion Green Ammonia Supply Deal with Samsung C&T
India’s Reliance Industries has signed a landmark $3 billion agreement to supply green ammonia to South Korea’s Samsung C&T, marking one of the largest clean-energy export deals announced this year.
The agreement highlights growing global demand for low-carbon fuels as industries seek to reduce emissions and meet climate targets.
Under the agreement, Reliance will produce green ammonia using renewable energy at its clean-energy facilities in India before exporting it to South Korea.
Samsung C&T will distribute the fuel to industrial customers looking for cleaner alternatives to conventional fossil fuels.
The partnership strengthens energy cooperation between the two Asian economies.
Green ammonia is increasingly viewed as a key fuel for decarbonizing industries such as shipping, steel production and power generation.
Governments and businesses worldwide are investing billions of dollars in hydrogen and ammonia projects as they transition toward cleaner energy sources.
Industry analysts say the agreement positions Reliance as a major player in the global green-energy market while helping Samsung C&T expand its clean-energy portfolio.
The deal also reflects increasing confidence in Asia’s renewable energy supply chain and long-term sustainability goals.
Experts believe similar agreements will become more common as countries accelerate investments in clean fuels.
The partnership is expected to support both companies’ long-term growth strategies while contributing to global efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
