Space Network has introduced “Space Network | Africa” at the Space Symposium in Colorado Springs on April 7, 2025.

This is an effort to promote economic growth, innovation, and education in Africa through space-based activities.

Over 60% of people in Africa are under 25 years old and are becoming more and more tech-savvy. This program aims to use the continent’s untapped talent and resources to boost technology progress and global competitiveness.

Setting up markets to connect global space companies with African ones, starting a Pan-African Space Incubator, and making deals with foreign organizations to encourage new ideas in the Global South are some of the most important parts.

Space Network Africa’s main goal is to create a steady flow of talented people through educational programs that range from basic school to professional development.

Online modules made with Nova Space and pilot projects in schools in Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa are the first steps. These projects are tailored to the needs of each area and culture.

Through hands-on activities like building satellites and holding business contests, programs that focus on innovation try to connect education and business.

The project is run by a dedicated staff, which is led by co-chairs Ross Hamilton and Thabo Kupa. Ambassadors like former Kenyan Ambassador Margaret W. N. Shava and venture capitalist Eric Osiakwan also help.
