Trump Threatens Netflix Over Board Member Remarks

Last Updated: February 23, 2026By Tags: , ,

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has warned Netflix of unspecified “consequences” if the company does not remove board member Susan Rice, escalating tensions between political figures and corporate leadership.

Trump’s remarks followed Rice’s appearance on the podcast Stay Tuned with Preet, hosted by Preet Bharara, where she suggested that corporations aligning themselves with Trump could face accountability under a future Democratic administration.

Reacting on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump sharply criticized Rice, questioning her role and compensation at Netflix while demanding her immediate removal.

He did not, however, specify what actions might follow if the company fails to comply.

The post also referenced claims by far-right activist Laura Loomer, alleging conflicts of interest related to Netflix’s business dealings, including its partnership with the Obamas’ production company Higher Ground.

While Netflix has not responded publicly, analysts note that the company’s pending acquisition of Warner Bros. will require regulatory approval, adding sensitivity to the political pressure surrounding the streaming giant.
