Truecaller Reaches 500 Million Users as Demand for Scam Protection Grows
Truecaller has announced that its platform has surpassed 500 million monthly active users, marking a significant milestone for the Sweden-based caller identification service. The growth reflects increasing global demand for tools that help users manage spam and fraudulent communications.
The company reported that it added 50 million users within the past year, with a substantial portion of its audience still concentrated in India. However, international expansion continues to gain momentum, with over 150 million users now based outside its primary market.
Truecaller’s leadership attributes the growth to rising concerns about scams and unwanted calls. In response, the company has introduced new features, including AI-powered call screening and tools that allow trusted contacts to manage calls on behalf of vulnerable users, such as family members.
Looking ahead, Truecaller aims to deepen its use of artificial intelligence to detect and prevent scams in real time. With ambitions to reach one billion users, the company is positioning itself as a critical player in the global effort to create safer digital communication environments.
