Samsung to Launch Google Photos App on Its Smart TVs in 2026

Last Updated: December 30, 2025By

Samsung has announced plans to introduce Google Photos on its smart televisions in 2026, marking a significant step toward enhancing how users enjoy personal media on larger screens. Until now, Google Photos users could only view their images and videos on TVs by casting from Android devices or sideloading the application.

The South Korean technology giant disclosed on Monday that the upcoming integration will allow users to access their Google Photos libraries directly on Samsung TVs. The first phase of the rollout will feature a curated display of photos and videos through the Memories function, which will be available exclusively on Samsung televisions for six months.

According to Samsung, users will be required to sign in with their Google accounts for their photos and videos to appear on the TV interface. The company also revealed plans to expand the experience with artificial intelligence–driven features. These include Nano Banana–powered creative templates, advanced image generation and editing tools, and the Remix feature, which enables users to transform existing photos into different artistic styles.

Commenting on the partnership, Shimrit Ben-Yair, Vice President of Google Photos and Google One, said Google Photos serves as a central hub for preserving and organizing life’s moments. She noted that bringing the service to Samsung TVs will allow users to relive their memories on a larger display and experience them in more engaging ways.

The move underscores Samsung’s broader strategy of integrating popular digital services into its TV ecosystem, while offering users richer, more personalized viewing experiences.
