Plex, a streaming app and media software creator, published an updated version of its mobile app on Monday.
The redesign includes a new user experience, reorganized navigation that includes a dedicated spot for the Watchlist, and other changes that are intended to simplify the process of accessing power-user features for Plex customers who utilize the company’s personal media management software, not just its streaming service.
According to the organization, an update to its tv app will be implemented shortly after the mobile app.
Plex is perhaps most renowned for its software, which enables home media professionals to organize their collections of music, photographs, home videos, TV programs, and more.
In recent years, the company has evolved to provide users with a comprehensive solution for all their media requirements.
This includes the ability to access free streaming TV and movies, as well as movie rentals, and a diverse array of discovery tools that assist users in locating the content they wish to view in a fragmented streaming landscape.
The primary objective of the Plex mobile app’s redesign is to incorporate more detailed media, such as title artwork for movies and programs, which has been a frequently requested feature.
Additional modifications are being implemented in the following areas: personal user profile pages, cast and crew profiles, and movie and show detail pages.
