Nvidia does not anticipate that the United States will relinquish its restrictions on semiconductor exports to China in the near future.

The chipmaker is so certain of this that it will not incorporate the Chinese market into its revenue and profit projections, according to CEO Jensen Huang in an interview with CNN recently.

Huang stated that he does not anticipate the Trump administration’s decision to reverse its semiconductor export restrictions, but he would appreciate it as a “bonus” if they did.

In April, the Trump administration implemented licensing requirements for Nvidia’s H20 processors, which were the most advanced AI chips that the company could sell to China.

The company stated in its first-quarter results that these restrictions would cause a $8 billion decrease in revenue in the second quarter.

Upon being contacted regarding this development, an Nvidia spokesperson cited Huang’s comments regarding China during the company’s Q1 earnings call.
