Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, has introduced a distinct application for its Meta AI assistant.
This application is comparable to those provided by OpenAI, which is sponsored by Microsoft, and Google, which is owned by Alphabet.
Meta has introduced a standalone application in order to increase the utilization of its AI assistant, in addition to its availability on the company’s family of platforms, which include WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger.
It also indicates CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s intention to fortify the company’s position in the competitive AI landscape, competing with major competitors like OpenAI and Google.
Meta’s distinct application will offer more personalized responses that are influenced by the user’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, as well as contextual information.
The Meta AI assistant is powered by Llama 4, Meta’s most recent large language model. This model is intended to compete with the most recent AI models from OpenAI, Google, Deepseek, and Anthropic, offering enhanced reasoning, multilingual capabilities, and efficiency.
The company stated that the new app will merge with the current companion app and integrate with Meta’s AI eyewear.
