As per the 2025 Global Tech Ecosystem Index by Dealroom, the city’s valuation has increased by 11.6 times since 2017, surpassing $9 billion.

Lagos is ranked above global tech centers such as São Paulo and Jakarta in this classification.

In addition to Lagos’ adolescent population and tech-friendly policies, investors have also recognized the city’s ambitious startup culture, which also contributed to the surge.

Africa’s digital economy is not only flourishing but also leading on a global scale, as evidenced by this growth, which is more than just a numerical increase.
