Digg, an early news aggregator on the internet, is currently under the ownership of its creator, Kevin Rose.

Notably, Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, will be joining him as a co-owner.

Digg and Reddit were once fierce competitors in the online social news aggregation sphere, having been established within a year of each other around two decades ago.

In the intervening years, the two platforms experienced comparable trajectory, transitioning through a variety of proprietors and spinoffs.

However, Reddit’s resilience has been particularly noteworthy, as the company’s user growth has continued to increase and the company eventually went public last year in a substantial IPO.
