MTN Uganda and the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) initiated the 2025 incarnation of 21 Days of Y’ello Care at Kabalagala Youth Centre in Kampala, Uganda on June 10.

Volunteers initiated the installation of a comprehensive digital learning infrastructure, which included a fully outfitted photo/videography studio, internet access, photovoltaic illumination, and mentorship programs, under the banner “Connecting at the Roots Connecting Communities through Digital Tools.”

Enid Edroma, the GM of Corporate Services at MTN Uganda, characterized the initiative as “not merely a technological solution, but a social and economic one.”

Training in fundamental computer operations, video narration, business mentoring, and solar-powered IT infrastructure is currently being provided to over 500 youth.

The center now provides a year of uninterrupted, complimentary internet service, a feature that was previously unavailable to many.

The campaign also expanded to the Luwero district, where MTN Mobile Money Uganda provided digital agribusiness support and upgraded the infrastructure of health centers, including solar and internet improvements.

For local youth, such as 19-year-old Amina, this program serves as a conduit between their aspirations and their eventual realization.

“Previously, I had only entertained the notion of studying graphic design. “I am currently in the process of editing videos and publishing them online,” she stated.

“I observe opportunities for employment, freelancing, and even business,” Amina said.

Over the next two weeks, the “MTNers,” or network of volunteers, of MTN Uganda will visit underserved regions such as the Tooro and Busoga kingdoms.

They will utilize digital tools to fortify communities that are founded on enduring local partnerships, addressing a wide range of topics, including vocational training and adolescent pregnancy awareness.
