To aid survivors of assault in South Sudan, IsraAID has implemented a WhatsApp chatbot.
In South Sudan, where sexual assault is a significant issue, the Israel-based organization IsraAID has implemented the WhatsApp chatbot to assist survivors.
The chatbot engages with survivors and promptly informs social workers of any new occurrences by posing a series of questions about their experiences.
The technology assisted in the reporting of 135 cases during its initial three months.
This technological approach offers a promising solution in sectors where conventional methods may be less effective, despite the presence of obstacles such as high rates of illiteracy, inadequate connectivity, and data privacy concerns.
