Google has disclosed an update to its Chrome web browser that will provide AI-generated store evaluations to consumers in the United States.
The objective of this update is to assist consumers in identifying the most suitable locations for their purchases.
A pop-up window will be displayed to inform consumers about the store’s reputation for factors such as product quality, purchasing, pricing, customer service, and returns.
This feature will be accessible by selecting an icon located just to the left of the web address in the browser.
The summaries will be generated through the use of evaluations from a variety of partners, such as Bazaarvoice, Bizrate Insights, Reputation.com, Reseller Ratings, ScamAdviser, Trustpilot, TurnTo, Yotpo, and Verified evaluations. Currently, the feature is only available in English.
Chrome will initially have access to the feature on its desktop. Google was unable to provide a response when contacted for comment regarding the availability of AI summaries on mobile devices.
