The co-founders of Expensya, one of Africa’s most popular SaaS platforms, Karim Jouini and Jihed Othmani, have established a new business called Thunder Code.
The business is dedicated to the use of generative AI for software testing.
Just one year after selling Expensya for $100 million, the Tunisian team has returned with a daring solution that seeks to automate software testing by utilizing AI to simulate human behavior.
The primary product of Thunder Code, CodeSquire, is set to revolutionize software quality assurance by utilizing an AI-native platform that accurately and human-like identifies defects and validates user experiences.
The innovation is primarily directed at enterprise-level developers and QA teams who are responsible for complex testing requirements across multiple platforms.
The startup has already secured $9 million in initial funding with the assistance of prestigious international venture capital firms and early supporters from Expensya’s investor network.
Thunder Code has showcased a global aspiration from the outset by initiating experimental programs in Tunisia, Canada, the United States, and France.
The début has been lauded by analysts as “one of the most exciting AI startups out of Africa,” and it has sparked significant media interest on a global scale.
Jouini emphasized that the startup is a new frontier in which African innovators are creating for the world, not just Africa.
