All-In-One Messaging App, Beeper, Relaunch With Premium Enhancements And Features

Last Updated: July 19, 2025By

Beeper, a multi-service messaging application that enables users to access all of their communication applications from a single interface, relaunched its app on July 16.

The new version will be more secure and will not necessitate the use of its own cloud services. Furthermore, Beeper is introducing premium offerings that offer access to a greater number of accounts than its free tier.

These offerings include power-user features such as the ability to transmit messages at a later time, an incognito mode to receive messages without designating them as read, AI voice note transcriptions, and more.

Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, acquired Beeper for $125 million in 2024. The app has since been nearly fully incorporated with Texts.com, a competitor that Automattic also acquired for $50 million the previous year.

The Beeper brand is now operating under a combined 30-person team, which includes consultants.

The messaging app is compatible with WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, X, Telegram, Signal, Matrix, Slack, Google Chat, Discord, LinkedIn, and Google Messages (SMS/RCS).

Beeper is capable of connecting users with their iMessage conversations on Mac computers exclusively; however, Apple has restricted this functionality in previous versions.

Automattic’s overarching objective is to mitigate the issue of managing an excessive number of messaging applications while simultaneously guaranteeing the security of those conversations.

Before communicating with the messaging network, the application initially established a connection with Beeper Cloud, according to Kishan Bagaria, CEO of Beeper.
Although that system remains the default, users will now have the option to swap to Beeper on their device. This will result in the app connecting directly to the messaging network, bypassing the intermediary.

“That guarantees that your privacy is as secure as the official app and that end-to-end encryption is maintained,” Bagaria stated in an interview with TechCrunch prior to the app’s relaunch.

However, the extent to which the companies involved will appreciate the bypassing of their own applications is uncertain.

Bagaria stated, “We have positive relationships with a number of these companies, and some of them are amenable to this.” “Others, we have not heard from them very often.”

Beeper endeavors to provide support for the business models of first-party applications whenever feasible in order to prevent any potential shutdowns by messaging network providers.

For instance, advertisements that are currently displayed in Telegram will also be displayed in Beeper.

In addition, the EU’s mandate for interoperable messaging platforms may exert pressure on messaging app providers to refrain from implementing solutions such as Beeper.

Beeper Plus, a new $9.99 per month premium plan, will be available in conjunction with the relaunch. This plan enables users to communicate with ten messaging services, as opposed to the five that are included in the free plan.

Furthermore, Plus subscribers have the ability to schedule messages for later transmission, establish reminders to follow up on chats, read messages in incognito mode to alleviate the pressure to respond immediately, access multiple accounts per network, view AI voice note transcriptions (processed via OpenAI’s Whisper model with user consent), and replace their app icon with a customized version.

Beeper Plus Plus, an additional tier that commences at $49.99 per month, is tailored to the requirements of social media administrators or businesses and provides access to an unlimited number of accounts. (Annual subscriptions are also available at a discounted rate of $99.99 per year for Beeper Plus and $499 per year for Beeper Plus Plus.)

After Automattic acquired Beeper, the company merged its team with Texts.com to create a new product that incorporated the finest features of both services.

Bagaria stated that the integration of those applications has reached 99% with the relaunch on Wednesday, with only a few minor features remaining to be transferred.

Eventually, Beeper will integrate with Automattic’s most recent acquisition, the personal CRM Clay (which may be rebranded), although it will continue to operate as a standalone application.

Bagaria stated, “It will be primarily constructed on the Beeper platform; it will remain complimentary.” “Clay is an exceptional application in its current state.” Then, Beaver can simply assimilate additional data and interactions, resulting in a two to tenfold improvement. I am confident that Clay will be a highly effective product once that is accomplished.”

Beeper currently boasts millions of registered users, including those from Texts.com. A limited number of individuals who are still utilizing Texts.com are now being offered the opportunity to migrate to Beeper, as it has implemented the on-device technology that they prefer.

Bagaria stated that there may still be some remaining reliability issues when transitioning to the on-device model; however, these are being resolved as new extreme cases arise.

Beeper Cloud will be deprecated at a later date once the company is confident that the on-device model is capable of serving as the primary mode of transportation for all users.

Beeper intends to make its data accessible to other organizations in the future, with user consent and privacy controls.
For example, an MCP Beeper could eventually enable users to connect to messaging applications via Claude or ChatGPT to request items such as “summarize all my important messages from this evening…”

Bagaria, who is also a “very privacy-conscious user,” anticipates that these advancements will require some time.
He would prefer a solution that is highly transparent regarding the data that is accessed and the timing of its access, and that enables users to explicitly approve or reject data requests.

“We also do not wish to establish server farms that are used to train models on your data.” “That is an absolute no-no,” he declared.
