Anthropic Eyes Massive IPO as AI Revenue Surges

Last Updated: August 16, 2026By

Artificial-intelligence company Anthropic is preparing for what could become one of the biggest technology initial public offerings in history, with investors placing enormous expectations on the company’s future revenue.

According to Reuters, Anthropic is being valued partly on projections that its annual revenue could reach $190 billion to $200 billion by 2028, highlighting the extraordinary expectations surrounding the AI industry.

The company has experienced rapid growth as businesses increasingly adopt its Claude artificial-intelligence models.

Anthropic is competing directly with other major AI companies, including OpenAI and Google’s AI operations, as businesses look for systems capable of handling writing, coding, research and other complex tasks.

The scale of the projected revenue is particularly significant because Anthropic is still a relatively young company compared with established technology giants.

Investors are therefore looking far ahead when assessing how much the company could eventually be worth and whether its current growth can be sustained.

Anthropic’s potential IPO comes during a period when financial markets have become increasingly enthusiastic about AI-related businesses.

However, the enormous valuations attached to AI companies have also raised questions about whether future revenues will justify the huge amounts being invested in computing infrastructure, data centres and AI development.

If Anthropic proceeds with a major public listing, its IPO could become an important test of investor confidence in the commercial future of artificial intelligence.

The company’s ability to turn rapidly growing demand for Claude into sustained profitability will be closely watched by technology investors.
