Facebook Marketplace Deploys Meta AI to Help Sellers Reply to Buyers Automatically
Facebook Marketplace is introducing new artificial intelligence tools designed to simplify how users buy and sell items on the platform. Among the updates is an AI-powered auto-reply system that helps sellers respond quickly to buyer inquiries without manually typing responses to every message.
The new feature uses Meta AI to generate automatic responses based on the details already provided in a seller’s listing. When a buyer asks questions about availability, price, pickup location, or product description, the AI can instantly draft a reply using information from the listing.
Sellers can preview and edit these responses before enabling the feature. Marketplace users often receive repetitive questions from buyers, especially about whether an item is still available. The new AI tool aims to reduce the time sellers spend answering such inquiries while keeping communication active.
The feature is expected to streamline conversations and improve response times across the platform. Another update allows sellers to create product listings more quickly. By uploading a photo of an item, Meta AI can automatically generate a draft listing that includes suggested descriptions and price estimates based on similar items being sold nearby.
Buyers will also see a summarized overview of a seller’s profile, including how long they have been on Facebook and their activity history on Marketplace. In addition, sellers can now expand their reach by offering shipping services, generating prepaid shipping labels, and tracking orders from a central dashboard.
