Interactive Visual Learning Feature Added to ChatGPT

Last Updated: March 12, 2026By

OpenAI has introduced a new feature that allows users to explore mathematical and scientific concepts through interactive visual demonstrations.

The tool, called dynamic visual explanations, enables users to manipulate formulas and variables in real time, providing a more engaging way to understand complex subjects.

Rather than simply reading explanations or viewing static diagrams, users can now interact with visual models directly within ChatGPT.

For instance, when studying the Pythagorean theorem, users can adjust the sides of a triangle and instantly see how the hypotenuse changes.

Similar interactive modules allow adjustments to variables in equations, helping users observe how outcomes shift immediately.

The feature currently supports more than 70 topics in mathematics and science. These include concepts such as the area of a circle, compound interest, Coulomb’s law, Hooke’s law, exponential decay, and linear equations.

OpenAI said the list will expand over time as more subjects are added to the system.

The introduction of interactive visuals reflects a shift in how AI tools are being used in education.

Instead of functioning solely as answer-generating assistants, the technology now encourages users to explore concepts and experiment with them directly.

This approach could potentially deepen understanding by turning explanations into hands-on learning experiences.

The development comes at a time when AI tools are increasingly being integrated into classrooms and study routines.

According to OpenAI, more than 140 million people use ChatGPT each week to help with math and science learning.

At the same time, educators continue to debate the role of artificial intelligence in academic environments and its impact on traditional teaching methods.
