Amazon Introduces Redesigned Fire TV Mobile App
Amazon has begun rolling out a redesigned version of its Fire TV mobile application, offering users new ways to discover and manage streaming content. Previously used mainly as a backup remote control, the updated app now allows viewers to browse movies and television shows, update watchlists, and start playback on their television directly from their smartphones.
The company said the upgrade transforms the phone into a second screen for content discovery, enabling users to add recommended programs to their watchlist even when they are away from home. The refreshed interface is intended to create a more flexible and convenient experience for Fire TV users.
The redesign also mirrors the company’s recently updated Fire TV interface, which places greater emphasis on content discovery and simplified navigation. Improvements include clearer category icons for movies, television, sports, live channels, and news, along with a more accessible search function.
Amazon noted that the changes respond to the rapid growth of streaming services, which has made it increasingly difficult for viewers to track available content. By acting as a central discovery hub, the platform aims to help users quickly locate shows and films across different services.
