Plaud Unveils NotePin S and Desktop AI Notetaker Ahead of CES 2026
Plaud, a hardware company known for its AI-powered note-taking devices, has introduced a new wearable notetaker, the Plaud NotePin S, alongside a desktop application designed to capture and organize notes from digital meetings. The announcement comes ahead of the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The NotePin S is an updated version of Plaud’s pin-style notetaker first released in 2024. The new device features a physical control button that allows users to start and stop recordings with ease. During recording, the button can also be tapped to mark important moments for later review, a feature similar to what is available on the company’s recently released Plaud Note Pro.
Priced at 179 dollars, the NotePin S is packaged with multiple wearing options, including a clip, lanyard, magnetic pin, and wristband, giving users flexibility in how they carry the device. Plaud has also added Apple Find My support, enabling users to locate the pin easily if it is misplaced.
In terms of performance, the core specifications remain unchanged from the previous model. The device offers 64GB of internal storage and delivers up to 20 hours of continuous recording on a single charge. It is equipped with dual MEMS microphones capable of capturing clear audio within a range of approximately 9.8 feet. Users also receive 300 minutes of free transcription each month.
Compared to the Note Pro, the NotePin S has a shorter recording range and lower battery life. However, its more compact size makes it easier to wear discreetly using any of the included accessories. According to the company, the device is designed for individuals who are frequently on the move and need quick, reliable note-taking in face-to-face settings.
The launch marks Plaud’s fourth hardware product, bringing the company’s total device sales to over 1.5 million units worldwide. While Plaud’s earlier products focused mainly on in-person meetings, the company is now expanding into digital meeting support with the release of its new desktop application.
The desktop client is designed to work across popular meeting platforms, automatically detecting when a meeting begins and prompting users to record and transcribe the session. On macOS, the application captures system audio and uses artificial intelligence to convert conversations into structured notes. Plaud has also extended its multimodal note-taking features—previously available on mobile—to the desktop, allowing users to combine audio recordings with images and typed notes in a single workspace.
With these additions, Plaud is positioning itself to compete more directly with established AI meeting notetaking platforms, while continuing to strengthen its presence in the growing productivity technology market.
