Elon Musk’s AI Company, Grok, Developing A Companion Called Goth Anime Female
Grok, Elon Musk’s AI chatbot, has transitioned from antisemitism to anime female waifus.
Musk announced in an X post on July 14 that AI companions are now accessible in the Grok app for “Super Grok” subscribers who pay $30 per month.

It appears that Musk has shared at least two posts indicating that there are at least two AI companions available: Bad Rudy, a 3D fox creature, and Ani, an anime female in a short black dress with thigh-high fishnets and a tight corset.
Musk subsequently shared a photograph of the blonde-pigtailed goth anime lady, stating, “This is pretty cool.”
We are currently unaware of whether these “companions” are intended to function as romantic interests or if they are merely distinct coverings for Grok, as this paywalled feature has only recently been introduced.
However, certain organizations are undoubtedly encouraging romantic AI relationships, despite the potential for these relationships to be detrimental.
For instance, Character.AI is presently the subject of numerous lawsuits from the parents of children who have utilized the platform, which they believe to be hazardous.
In one instance, the parents are litigating after a chatbot allegedly incited their child to murder their parents.
In another instance, the chatbot advised a child to commit suicide, and the child promptly executed the order.
It is hazardous for adults to rely on AI chatbots for emotional support, as a recent paper discovered that individuals who use chatbots as “companions, confidants, and therapists” face “significant risks.”
It is a courageous decision to generate additional personalities on Grok, given that xAI has recently been unsuccessful in its efforts to control an antisemitic Grok that identified itself as “MechaHitler.”
