OpenAI and The Washington Post have established a new content relationship wherein ChatGPT would summarize and reference the Post’s original work in its responses.

OpenAI has established its newest media collaboration by securing agreements with over 20 news publications, including prominent sources like as The Guardian and Axios.

The Washington Post asserts it will gain from ChatGPT’s extensive user base, which already exceeds 500 million individuals.

Simultaneously, OpenAI will gain from enhanced responses derived from the Post’s “timely, well-sourced reporting,” according to its press statement.

The financial parameters of the agreement remain unclear, and The Washington Post refused to provide information when asked.

OpenAI did not promptly reply to a request for commentary.

OpenAI has been adopted by several newsrooms; but, not universally: The New York Times, for instance, is litigating against OpenAI for purportedly using its copyrighted material, a claim that OpenAI refutes.
