Oracle is the most likely candidate to be the cloud technology partner responsible for administering TikTok in the United States, The Information has reported.
The outlet was informed by sources, including investors, financiers, and former executives who are acquainted with ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, that the company prefers Oracle over other cloud providers.
TikTok has been employing Oracle servers to store data of U.S. users since 2022, which renders it a probable candidate for this transaction.
Although, TikTok has until April to complete a transaction to a U.S.-based buyer, there are still uncertainties regarding the destiny of the short-form video app.
The report implies that ByteDance continues to desire a direct involvement in TikTok’s operations, with Oracle serving as a partner.
Furthermore, President Trump has expressed his endorsement of Oracle’s involvement in the transaction.
